Shamans are concerned with the human soul, with healing during life and assisting the soul’s passage out of the Middle World after death. Familiar with the realms of the dead, a shaman can act as a psychopomp—a conductor of souls. In this fully experiential workshop, you will have the opportunity to explore, from a core shamanic perspective, what happens to human souls after they leave the body. Learn and practice the psychopomp method to locate souls of the deceased that want assistance and guide them out of the Middle World to the Upper or Lower Worlds, where they will be supported on their journey.

Many find psychopomp work to be the most rewarding work that they do, and for many shamanic practitioners, this is the only work they do. It is a gift to the planet and to humanity to do complete this work that has been lost in many cultures for generations.

What to bring:

Rattle and/or Drum
Eyeshade
Notebook and pen/pencil
Water bottle
Computer and earbuds/earphones (optional) to optimize your listening experience and privacy

This experiential online training taught by FSS faculty member Kerri Husman is offered via Zoom video conferencing. Participants will see and hear each other and interact in pairs and small groups, as well as in the full circle.

All students must participate with audio and video and access the meeting through their own individual device, so if you are attending with a friend or partner, you will each need to sign on separately as we have breakout experiences throughout the workshop.

Instructions for Zoom (free to individual users) and workshop access will be provided by the instructor after registration.

10.5 FSS Continuing Education (CE) Credits available. Completion of the entire workshop (10.5 hours) is required for credit.

Member Tuition Discount: Members of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies can receive $15 off tuition for this workshop. Discount will be applied during registration by logging into shamanism.org, going to the store to find the code, and entering that when you register. Not a member? Join us. Due to our Mammoth Hills Practice Better portal assigning one discount code to one dollar value, the discount will come up at $10. After enrolling, message Kerri in the portal chat the current code and she will provide you the remaining discount.

Electronic recording of audio, video, and images is not permitted during the workshop.

Teaching the techniques you have learned in workshops to others is not permitted without explicit consent from the Foundation for Shamanic Studies.
