MICHAEL HARNER’S  Power Soul Retrieval Training™

(Weekend – IN PERSON)

Learning shamanism is not just a matter of acquiring methods, but also of increasing spiritual power and knowing how to use it. From the shamanic point of view, people who are not spiritually “power-filled” are prone to illness, accidents, and misfortune. Anyone who has had a traumatic experience may lose a portion of their soul, of their spiritual essence. There are also other reasons this may occur.

In this workshop, participants will learn about soul loss and soul retrieval from a shamanic perspective. There will be a particular emphasis on the importance of shamanic power to do successful soul retrieval. Participants will also learn how to re-empower a client’s soul after it has been returned so that the client is once again spiritually power-filled, leading to greater health and well-being. This soul retrieval training is based on worldwide core principles and methods. It does not require Western psychological perspectives and practices.

Thirteen hours of Foundation for Shamanic Studies (FSS) Continuing Education credits available. If you must leave early, you will need to complete the workshop in full to receive credit.

    FSS Workshop FAQs:

  • More Details on what to bring and expectations:
    • Rattle and/or drum
      • No, you do not need both, but you will likely want to use both. If you don’t have a rattle, pill or vitamin bottles work just fine, and I will have a few extra rattles and a couple of drums for use during the workshop if you forget.
    • Notebook and pen or pencils for notetaking. No electronic recording of any type or the use of any devices for typing are allowed.  This is an FSS requirement. No notetaking is required at all; you can just listen.
    • Eye covering for journeying. Blindfold, bandana, Mindfold®Sleep mask, or Eyeco (for those with dry eye).
    • Comfortable clothing and warm socks and/or indoor slippers. We will all have our shoes off in the meeting room to participate in the circle. Many people wear sweats or yoga pants. Comfort is essential. Even if it is summer, bring socks or slippers, as feet getting cold from lack of movement can be very distracting during journeys.
    • A water bottle with a closed lid for water in the meeting room. No other food or drink allowed in the circle.
    • Blanket, pillow, or yoga mat if you want to lay down for journeys (optional).
    • If you need to stand or stretch during didactic instructions to restore comfort, you are welcome to do so.
    • During journeys, initiations and didactic instruction, please try not to leave the meeting room and circle unless it is an emergency.
    • We will have frequent brief bio breaks during our sessions, and the restrooms are very close.
    • Some light snacks will be available, so please bring favorite snacks if you need them. This work can make people hungry.
    • You may bring your own lunch or go out for lunch breaks. We will have kitchen access. You will have ample time to go out for lunch as well.
    • The space will be locked by Kerri overnight on Saturday night, so you can leave your items, at your own risk, in the space during that time if desired.

Is there anything I need to do to prepare my body or spirit for this work and for after the workshop?

    • Do what you can to be well fed and well rested. This work can be exhausting and work up a hearty appetite, so bring extra snacks along for breaks if that will help. Some will stay overnight Sunday night as well to be rested before returning home.
    • Avoid mind-altering recreational substances prior to, during, and at least the day after your workshop. This is considered a substance-free experience.
    • Please continue all prescription medications as recommended by your prescribers.
    • Make sure you have plenty of time to drive home and consider staying over if you are tired. Be sure that you feel fully grounded and present upon getting in your vehicle to drive. If you do not feel ready to drive, please talk to your facilitator.
    • You will be able to ask general questions about the practices covered in the workshop on the Mammoth Hills Practice Better portal to support your integration of the work.
    • You can request to attend Kerri’s free monthly journey circle, and/or any other FSS journey circle, to build community and practice.
    • You can feel free to access to Kerri’s free A Journey A Day Podcast to support your daily journey practice and building your relationships with the benevolent and compassionate spirits around you. New and experienced journeyers tune in for inspiration.

Electronic recording of audio, video, and images is not permitted during the workshop.

Teaching the techniques you have learned in workshops to others is not permitted without explicit consent from the Foundation for Shamanic Studies.

FSS Sponsoring and Council Members receive a 10% tuition discount on two FSS in-person (two-day) workshops in the USA and Canada per membership year. The discount must be used within one year of the start date of your membership. Please let Kerri know if you wish to apply for this discount so she can verify it. A discount will be sent after verification as a refund. This workshop tuition discount may not be used with the 50% tuition rebates for Native Americans on federally recognized tribal rolls for workshops taken in the USA and Canada.
