BASIC WORKSHOP: THE WAY OF THE SHAMAN® (IN PERSON)
Recommended(not required): The Shamanic Worldview: Everything is Alive™
An effective shamanic healing practice depends on a combination of factors, including authentic and rigorous training in methods and direct experience with clients. As a spiritual healing method, the pragmatic aspects of the profession may be easily overlooked, and yet can make the difference between a valuable experience and a profoundly healing one from the client’s viewpoint.
By combining lecture, small group discussion, interactive exercises, and journeying, this workshop will help you create a healing practice that inspires and supports you and your clients. We will address ethical issues such as permission, describing shamanic healing and screening potential clients, what to do before and after a session, and practicing with integrity and respect. It will include some of the pragmatic aspects of an effective shamanic practice, such as fees for your service and designing your healing space.
This experiential online training taught by FSS faculty member Kerri Husman is offered via Zoom video conferencing. Participants will see and hear each other and interact in pairs and small groups, as well as in the full circle.
All students must participate with audio and video and access the meeting through their own individual device.
Instructions for Zoom (free to individual users) and workshop access will be provided as needed. You will have access to the Zoom link in your portal and receive reminders 48 hours prior to class. You can log into your link at any time to update Zoom on your device automatically.
The course consists of 7 hours of training. Kerri may teach the workshop in two 3.5-hour sessions or in a 9-hour one-day session with longer breaks.
